Silence of the Lambs: The Greatest Comedy Film Ever

In my opinion, Silence of the Lambs is the greatest comedy film ever. I say this after careful observation of the film, and I have discovered that it contains comedy that speaks to all the theories of humor we've learned about.
To those unfamiliar with the film, it's about a young FBI agent named Clarice Starling who is trying to track down a serial killer known only by the name Buffalo Bill. To try to find him she seeks the advice of one Dr. Hannibal Lecter, an imprisoned cannibalistic serial killer himself and a brilliant psychiatrist.

This first scene comes during an escape attempt by Dr. Lecter. Having disabled his two guards, one the police have just rushed to the hospital, Dr. Lecter tries to escape by riding down with the officers on top of the elevator car.

The final scene of the movie contains one of the greatest puns in cinema history. You think Dr. Lecter is just going to be sitting down with a friend for dinner until you remember that he's a cannibal and his friend IS dinner
